Welcome to Systematic Intervention at NHA. In this course you will engage in eight learning modules designed to equip you with the basics of math and ELA Intervention at NHA.  See below for a description of each module. 

Module Description

1.  Introduction to Systematic Intervention at NHA

You will gain an understanding of Systematic Intervention at NHA by defining key practices that support implementation and reflecting on current practices at your school. 

2. Introduction to ELA Systematic Intervention

You will understand leader responsibilities and supporting resources associated with several key practices of Systematic Intervention.

3. Introduction to Math Systematic Intervention

You will gain an understanding of the leader responsibilities and supporting resources associated with Key Practices 3, 4, and 5 of Systematic Intervention.

4. Grades K-2 Reading Intervention Block

You will review the reading intervention vision of instruction and how it drives the components of a K-2  reading intervention block as well as understand scheduling opportunities for ensuring daily instruction.

5. Grades 3-8 Reading Intervention Block

You will review the reading intervention vision of instruction and how it drives the components of a 3-8 reading intervention block as well as understand scheduling opportunities for ensuring daily instruction.
6. Reading Intervention Resources

You will identify instructional and coaching resources to support you in leading effective intervention instruction.

7. The Math Intervention Instructional Block

You will gain an understanding of instruction in a Bridges Intervention session and connect the pedagogy to NHA’s math vision and beliefs.  

8. Math Intervention Resources

You will be introduced to the structure of the Bridges Intervention volumes and the correlation of the volumes to the placement of students in a volume for the creation of student plans.

 

 Course Outcomes

  • Define Systematic Intervention at NHA and identify Key Practices that support Systematic Intervention implementation 
  • Articulate leader responsibilities and supporting resources associated with Key Practices to Systematic Intervention Implementation and reflect on current implementation at your school
  • Understand the connection between the six Key Practices of Systematic Intervention, the Reading Intervention Vision, and the structure of the Reading Mastery Block 
  • Communicate the purpose and identify evidence of success for each component of the Reading Mastery, Corrective Reading, and Bridges Intervention block
  • Understand the resources that are in place to support leading Reading Mastery, Corrective Reading, and math intervention instruction and how to access and use these resources
