Instructional Leadership: Social Studies at NHA

By the end of this course you will be able to:

• articulate NHA’s vision for social studies instruction, explain what inquiry-based instruction is, describe inquiry-based instruction, and identify key characteristics of inquiry-based instruction in a social studies lesson.
• explain the instructional sequence of a unit and a lesson in social studies and identify what each stage of these sequences looks and sounds like in action.

• identify and locate the Social Studies NHA Year-at-a-Glance and other key social studies resources to support the social studies vision of instruction.
